Vascular Surgery Fellowship Program
Pennsylvania Vascular Fellowship Program
Pennsylvania Hospital has an accredited vascular surgery fellowship since 1993, one of only four in the Philadelphia region. Drs. Calligaro, Dougherty and Troutman are committed to the education and training young vascular surgeons. The fellows provide another level of care for our patients.
Our vascular surgeons are nationally known in their field and are widely published with more than 100 articles and several books on vascular disease. They speak at regional and national meetings several times a year.
Annual Vascular Symposium
Drs. Calligaro, Dougherty and Troutman hold an Annual Pennsylvania Hospital Vascular Symposium, which is the only medical center in the Philadelphia area to host an annual symposium with leading vascular experts from across the country to discuss the latest advancements in treating vascular disease. Honorary Chairmen have included the Chief of Vascular Surgery at the Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, and Massachusetts General Hospital. Vascular surgeons from around the area come to the symposium to learn the most recent and up to date treatment of vascular disease from the nation’s experts.
Drs. Calligaro, Dougherty and Troutman are involved in several clinical trials evaluating treatment of vascular disease. They participated in an FDA approved Phase III clinical trial investigating aortic stent grafts to treat aortic aneurysms and are currently in a trial involving carotid artery stenting.
